Sailor Uranus, Neptune Lip Rods Return With New Anime Voice Recordings

The Premium Bandai website revealed two new Proplica items on Friday: Transformation Lip Rod Sailor Uranus and Transformation Lip Rod Sailor Neptune. The rods are approximately 1/1-scale recreations of Uranus and Neptune's transformation items in the Sailor Moon anime.
The items draw inspiration from the previous Lip Rods released in the 90s. The new items feature a mirror, lights, anime music, and new voice recordings. Megumi Ogata and Masako Katsuki voiced Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune, respectively, in the 90s anime and returned to make new recordings for the Proplica items. When fans place both Lip Rods together on a special stand, they can hear the two characters talking to each other in a scene.
The set of two Lip Rods costs 16,200 yen (about US$148) and each costs 8,100 yen (about US$74) separately. The individual Lip Rods are slated to begin shipping in June, and the sets will ship in July.
Alongside Sailor Chibi Moon Proplica items, the Lip Rods debuted at the Tamashii Nations 2017 event in December. Previous items inspired by Uranus and Neptune's transformation items include perfumes, lip balms, chopsticks, and pens.
