Love Live! Girls Battle for Supremacy in 5th Anniversary General Election
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
All the school idols you can shake a stick at will be pitted against one another for a chance to be the Love Live! School Idol Festival campaign girl. The election will pick the best idol from the original μ's, Love Live! Sunshine!!'s Aqours, and the recently introduced Nijigasaki Academy's Idol Appreciation Club.
One girl from each group will be picked to represent the fifth anniversary campaign and featured on merchandise sold at the 2018 Love Live! School Idol Festival Thanksgiving event. Polls will open at the game's official website on November 16.
Recent campaign winners include Riko (Love Live! Sunshine!!, 7-Eleven), Yoshiko (Love Live! Sunshine!!, Numazu's Gamers store), and Hanamaru (Love Live! Sunshine!!, Sega).
The game recently held a contest to pick the logo for the Nijigasaki Academy's Idol Appreciation Club's school. Over 5,000 designs were submitted and staff narrowed down submissions to five potential choices. Those designs are up for vote until November 21.
The Nijigasaki Academy characters are part of ongoing monthly rankings. The winners this month will get a special Valentine's voice drama that will go up on YouTube.
KLab Games and Bushiroad announced during the Tokyo Game Show event in September that its Love Live! School Idol Festival smartphone game will get a new version titled Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS next year. The new version will include the members of Nijigasaki Academy's Idol Appreciation Club that were introduced earlier this year as part of the game's "Perfect Dream Project" (PDP).
The Nijigasaki Academy cast is:
- Aguri Ōnishi as Ayumu Uehara
- Mayu Sagara as Kasumi Nakasu
- Kaori Maeda as Shizuku Osaka
- Miyu Kubota as Karin Asaka
- Natsumi Murakami as Ai Miyashita
- Akari Kitō as Kanata Konoe
- Tomori Kusunoki as Setsuna Yuki
- Maria Sashide as Emma Verde
- Chiemi Tanaka as Rina Tennoji
The new game will offer a completely original fully-voiced new story that will bring the members of both μ's and Aqours together. The story will include both stories that involve each school, as well as personal stories that deepen the bonds between two characters, as well as a larger story that will cross the boundaries between all three schools.
The game will also bring new nine-member formation dances, and will have new gameplay systems for the concerts other than the rhythm game that has been present in the game so far. The new game will allow players to customize the activities of the characters and personalize their skills through a skill tree.
Bushiroad and KLab released the Love Live! School Idol Festival rhythm action and adventure game in English on iOS and Android devices in May 2014. The game added the Love Live! Sunshine!! characters to the game in September 2016.
The game also received an arcade version titled Love Live! School idol festival ~afterschool Activity~ that launched in Japan in December
