Yahoo! Japan Launches Luffy, Sanji Sound Search for One Piece Special
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Yahoo! Japan's search engine recently launched the Yahoo! ♪ sound search feature. Yahoo! ♪ lets users search for sound content related to search terms. The One Piece anime is partnering with Yahoo! ♪ to promote an upcoming television special.
If people use the terms "Luffy ♪" or "Sanji ♪" in Japanese to search through Yahoo! Japan, the results will include five short voice recordings for each character. The sound clips were recorded specially for Yahoo! ♪. The recordings focus on different feelings for Luffy and Sanji such as conviction, happiness, and determination. For example, Luffy's special phrases include "You're our comrade!" and "I'll bring Sanji back!" If users search for the term "Luffy vs. Sanji ♪" in Japanese, they can also hear a clip in which Luffy tries to convince Sanji to come with him while Sanji resists.
The Yahoo! ♪ sound clips promote and tease the one-hour "Kanashiki Kettō Luffy VS Sanji" (Saddest Duel: Luffy vs. Sanji) fall special episode of One Piece, which will premiere on October 1 at 9:00 a.m. The special will be the climax (but not the finale) of the Whole Cake Island Arc.
The "One Piece 20th x KYOTO Kyoto Straw Travel Journal: Another Country of Wano" event will also launch in Kyoto next week. A One Piece"holographic" stage event, titled "One Piece Dramatic Stage THE METAL ~Tsuioku no Marineford~" (Recollection of Marineford), will premiere at the DMM VR Theater in Yokohama in early 2018.
