The anime adaptation of Akira Amano's Reborn! manga is celebrating its 10th anniversary with pop-up shops in Osaka and Tokyo and a wide array of limited-edition merchandise.
The pop-up shop in Osaka will be open from September 16 to November 12 at Aeon Mall Dainichi's Namco store, and the Tokyo location will be open from December 2 to January 22 at Shinjuku ALTA.
Both pop-up shops will feature a mini game called "Galleria Vongola Garapon" that fans can play to win a mini cushion, 11 types of tin badges, and 12 types of illustrated sheets. One play will cost 400 yen (about US$3.70).
The pop-up shops will also sell six varieties of character nameplate tin badges for 500 yen (US$4.60) each, seven varieties of acrylic straps for 600 yen (US$5.50) each, and two varieties of emblem pouches for 2,500 yen (US$23) each.
Previously this year, Reborn! had collaborations with Namco's J-World Tokyo theme park, the Jump Shop in Tokyo Dome City, and nicocafe. Blu-ray Disc box sets and a compilation CD are also celebrating the anime's 10th anniversary.
The Reborn! (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!) anime premiered in October 2006 and ended in 2010, airing for a total of 203 episodes. The series was not available outside of Japan until Crunchyroll began streaming the series in 2009. Viz Media and Hulu later streamed the anime.
Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine serialized the best-selling manga from 2004 to 2012. Viz Media released 16 of the manga's 42 compiled book volumes in North America.
