Tatami Galaxy's Yusuke Nakamura's Wonder Woman Drinks Tea & Takes Names

The campaign for Warner Bros. live-action Wonder Woman film in Japan has been fraught with controversy but one thing it hasn't lacked is great artwork. An art project with contributions from Trigger's Sushio, Magical Angel Creamy Mami's Akemi Takada, and Sword Art Online's Shingo Adachi went on display in Shinjuku in July. Metal Gear Solid designer Yoji Shinkawa also drew the heroine for the Japanese edition of Wonder Woman Anthology.
The latest collaboration is with contemporary artist Yūsuke Nakamura. This year marks the artist 15th anniversary since his debut and he is holding an exhibition of his work at Osaka University of the Arts at Sky Campus until September 18. The exhibition includes a new work, Nakamura's rendition of Wonder Woman from the film. She's shown with sword in hand, deflecting an over-sized bullet with her bracer, all the while having a spot of tea.
Nakamura designed the cover art for a number of albums from Asian Kung-Fu Generation as well as for Tomihiko Morimi's The Tatami Galaxy and The Night is Short Walk On, Girl film.
The film opens in Japan on August 25. The film opened in North America on June 2.
