Kira Yamato Tops Poll of Gundam Protagonists With Best Personality

Due to differences in life experience, the average person may find it hard to relate to the fierce fighters and child soldiers who star in Gundam anime. Nevertheless, these characters can evoke powerful emotions in viewers through their roles in such an iconic franchise. The Goo Ranking website decided to rank Gundam anime protagonists in terms of their basic characteristics and fans' reactions to them. The website posted the results on Tuesday of its poll asking readers which main character has the best personality in Gundam.
The website conducted the poll from April 21 to May 5, and 2,465 people cast votes.

Despite the franchise's popularity, a 2016 poll found that 67.5% of the college students it surveyed had not seen the original anime series. Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack ranked #1 in a 2014 poll of fans' favorite Gundam anime. The original Mobile Suit Gundam ranked at #2, followed by Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn: Episode 1 - Day of the Unicorn at #3.
