Kemono Friends Bus Tour Heads to Safari Park in July
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
If going to see the upcoming Kemono Friends stage play or orchestral concert isn't enough, fans of the anime will soon be able to participate in a themed bus tour. Sankei Tours is holding "Japari Bus Tour Gunma Chihō Yuki" on July 29.
After departing from Tokyo, participants will visit Gunma Safari Park. They will explore the park and go on a safari walk. Voice actresses Yuka Ozaki (voice of Serval), Kana Motomiya (Fennec), Saki Ono (Common Raccoon), Ruka Nemoto (Emperor Penguin), Kyōka Tamura (Gentoo Penguin), and Ikuko Chikuta (Humboldt Penguin) will appear at an exclusive event. The event will have a talk show, mini concert, and prize lottery. In addition, all tour participants will receive an exclusive T-shirt, certificate, and commemorative photograph.
The tour is limited to 100 participants, and the cost is 29,800 yen (about US$271). Members of the official Kemono Friends fan club Kimi mo Friends, which was established on June 2, can apply to participate from June 14 to June 16. The regular application period will run from June 19 to June 23.
Due to the popularity of the original smartphone game and television anime, Bushiroad is developing multiple Kemono Friends games, including a brand-new game for smartphones slated for this summer. The anime is getting "original content" on TV Tokyo's new AniTele app, which launched on April 1. A "new screen project" for Kemono Friends was announced last month.
Nexon's original app game launched in early 2016 and ended service on December 14 — before the anime even premiered. The 12-episode Kemono Friends television anime premiered on TV Tokyo and TV Osaka on January 10 and ended on March 28. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired. The anime received an unofficial "episode 12.1" that was not part of the new screen project.
