posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Bob Gale's Back to the Future: Untold Tales graphic novels are getting a Japanese release. Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Comics imprint is releasing a compiled book volume on Wednesday. Yūsuke Murata (One-Punch Man, Eyeshield 21 artist) contributed an original illustration for the wraparound jacket band on the book.
The Japanese-language book includes nine chapters and retains the left-to-right reading format. Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Comics's official website is serializing one new chapter every Wednesday through the fifth chapter. The first chapter debuted on the website on Wednesday.
IDW released the Back to the Future: Untold Tales and Alternate Timelines graphic novel with Gale's story last June. Gale co-wrote the script for the Back to the Future science-fiction film trilogy. The graphic novel includes spinoff stories about the films' main characters. These stories include the tales of how Marty met Doc, how Doc obtained the DeLorean, and how Biff traveled back in time to the period when dinosaurs lived.
