Love Live! Sunshine!!'s Riko Overtakes Yō to Win 'Image Girl' Poll

Love Live! Sunshine!! character Riko Sakurauchi (voiced by Rikako Aida) overtook Yō Watanabe (voiced by Shuka Saitō) to win 7-Eleven's "image girl" popularity poll. Yō was ahead in the interim results that the campaign unveiled in mid-September.
Yō took second place in the poll, and Hanamaru Kunikida (voiced by Kanako Takatsuki) finished at #3. Hanamaru also ranked third in the interim results.
Character designer Yūhei Murota will create a special illustration of Riko, and the figure company Alter will create an original figure. To celebrate Riko's victory, fans can use 7-Eleven's 7 Spot app to download a free Riko wallpaper from October 5 to October 12.
The poll ran from September 1 to September 30.
Although Riko beat Yō in this contest, Yō was the definitive winner of last year's "center" idol poll. She featured as the lead for the group's second single.
The voting period for Dengeki G's Magazine second "center" idol poll closed on Wednesday. Yoshiko Tsushima (voiced by) Aika Kobayashi) was leading in the interim results published last Friday. The winning character will feature in the center position as the lead on the Aquors idol group's third single CD.
Dengeki G's Magazine's "1st Cover Girl Election" poll also closed on Friday. Yō again topped the interim results for that popularity poll, with fans wanting to take her out to Ra Ra Ra Sun Beach in Namazu. The winning girl will feature on the cover of the magazine's upcoming February issue, which goes on sale in Japan in December.
