Phantasy Star Online 2 Game Announces Godzilla: Resurgence Event

Sega's online role-playing game Phantasy Star Online 2 will be getting a Godzilla crossover event to celebrate the upcoming film Godzilla: Resurgence, which will debut in Japan as Shin Godzilla on July 29. The event was announced during a Niconico broadcast on July 17 and will begin in August.

From August 10 to September 7, the Heisei version of Godzilla will take over the game lobby. He will move around, roar, and can destroy one of the control panels with his atomic breath. Towards the end of August, a wearable Godzilla suit will appear. The event will also include a mini Godzilla device and destroyable city room goods.
Phantasy Star Online 2 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita in Japan and Southeast Asia. A light version of the game, Phantasy Star Online 2es, is also available in those regions for Android and Smartphone. A western release was originally planned, but has been delayed until further notice.
An anime version of the game, Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation, premiered in Japan in January 2016. It was licensed by Sentai Filmworks and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
