Bandai's S.H. Figuarts line is adding a 50th anniversary Ultraman figure, standard Ultraman figure, and his foe alien Baltan to the line-up. The company kicked off the announcement with a stop-motion video of Ultraman and Baltan. The two wage battle while their own snoozes on the couch.
The 50th anniversary edition will go on sale in July for 8,640 yen (US$76). The set includes alternate hand poses, ray attack effect, pedestal, four skyscraper props, a spacecraft (for Baltan), base plates, and connectors.
The regular Ultraman will also go on sale in July for 5,616 yen (US$49). It also comes with hand poses and the ray attack effect but does not include the skyscraper and spacecraft props.
Baltan will be released in August for 5,940 yen (US$52).
Additional building props will also be released in July in two sets, regular and damaged. Each costs 2,700 yen. These allow for more options to create an immersive diorama for any S.H. Figuarts action scenes.
Gecco Corp. are releasing a 1/6-scale statue of the tokusatsu hero Ultraman in May. The statue is based on the designs from Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi manga series.
