posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
The Japanese idol group Babymetal, the "hardcore" spin on Japanese idol culture, will head to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to promote their new album Metal Resistence. The group's American distributor RED announced the group is confirmed to appear on the program during the week of the album's April 1 release.
The three idols, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal), Moa Kikuchi (Moametal), and Yui Mizono (Yuimetal), opened for part of Lady Gaga's ArtRAVE tour across the United States in 2014 but are now superstars in their own right. The group kicked off a world tour last year and are heading to the U.S. for more tour dates with stops in New York; Boston; Concord, NC; Philadelphia; Silver Spring, MD; Detroit; Chicago; Seattle; San Francisco; and Los Angeles.
In 2014, Hatsune Miku made her late night talk show debut by performing on The Late Show with David Letterman. Colbert replaced Letterman on the program last year.
