Longtime Japanese DJ to Release Mix CD of Classic Anime, Tokusatsu Music
posted on by Eric Stimson
Japanese hip-hop MC and DJ MURO has been producing music for 30 years, first with the groups Krush Posse and Microphone Pager, and then (after 1999) as a solo artist. To celebrate his three decades in the business, he is releasing a mix CD entirely featuring anime and tokusatsu music and sound effects from the 1970s: Super Animated Breaks & SFX ~30 Years and still counting~.
MURO has revealed his interest in anime culture before: he composed the soundtrack for the 2006 anime Tokyo Tribe 2. To return the favor, Tokyo Tribes's manga artist, Santa Inoue, drew the jacket illustration for Super Animated Breaks & SFX. "Music goes with anime and tokusatsu, and there are tons of amazing sound effects produced by first-rate musicians, so be sure to listen to it," MURO commented. "The hunt for unknown music still goes on..."
