Tiger & Bunny Tops Most-Wanted Original Anime Sequel Poll

The website Anime! Anime! held a poll from August 26-31 asking its readers which original series is most deserving of a sequel. A total of 13,752 people responded to the poll, 80% of which were women.
Tiger & Bunny topped the results by an overwhelming majority with more than 30% of respondents wanting more Barnaby and Kotetsu. The anime series, which aired in 2011, did receive two compilation films followed by Tiger & Bunny The Movie -The Rising- anime film sequel last year. The film opened to the tune of 130 million yen (US$1,077,988).
Second place went to Gen Urobuchi, Naoyoshi Shiotani, and Katsuyuki Motohiro's dystopian crime procedural Psycho-Pass. Originally animated by Production I.G, a second season by Tatsunoko Production aired last year followed by a film in January.
Mononoke, the spin-off of Ayakashi - Samurai Horror Tales starring a mysterious medicine seller who takes down evil spirits rounded out the top three.

BIGLOBE held a similar poll in 2012 but results included works derived from manga and light novels. Toradora! and Angel Beats! were favorites at the time, as was Tiger & Bunny.
