Wolf Girl to be live-action present-day sequel to Hayao Miyazaki classic

The makers of a British fan film sequel to Hayao Miyazaki's Princess Mononoke have released the above six-minute making-of film on youtube. The live-action fan film, called Wolf Girl, is set 600 years after the events of Miyazaki's story. The original outline for Wolf Girl posed the question, 'What if the forest needed a princess once again?'

The film was funded through a successful Kickstarter campaign which raised nearly £30,000 from 238 backers. The director, who appears in the video above, is Nate Drake.

The behind the scenes video shows the actors trying on their costumes for the first time and the first day of principal photography. The crew are shown filming the female protagonist in London, despite some disruption by British rain.

The original concept trailer for the film is below. The film also has a website, Youtube channel, facebook page and twitter account. According to the website, the film is now in post-production.
