Dark Souls Cosplay Photo Wins Prize Worth 100,000 Yen

The Nippon Cosplay Photo Contest at St. Fest. 2015 posted its winners on Monday. Unlike other cosplay contests that judge strictly on costume creation and styling, this contest focuses on the photographer and the composition of the photograph. Votes were tallied for a month and a half via the internet and the event venue itself.
The winning photo of Dark Souls video game character Undead Prince Ricard with 2,224 votes.

The lucky winner receives a travel ticket worth 100,000 yen (about US$836).
The second place winner submitted a picture of a Yuna cosplayer from Final Fantasy X and won a Panasonic Viera 50v Plasma TV.
The third place winner submitted a picture of Yoko from Gurren Lagann and won an Amazon gift card worth 30,000 yen (US$250).
Five winners were chosen by committee and won the "Special Award" and were gifted an Amazon gift card worth 10,000 yen (US$84). The costumes include Kotori (Love Live!), Sailor Uranus (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon), Juliet Starling (Lollipop Chainsaw), Akane Tsunemori (Psycho-Pass), and a general "gothic" girl.
