posted on by Karen Ressler
The official YouTube Channel for the second Gintama film, Gekijōban Gintama Kanketsu-hen: Yorozuya yo Eien Nare (Final Gintama: The Movie: Be Forever Yorozuya), began streaming a short television commercial on Monday to advertise that the movie is still in theaters. In the commercial, Kagura says that if you've only had worthless summer memories, there's still a chance to get in some good ones by watching the movie, to which Shinpachi yells that she's being rude. The film opened in Japan on July 6.
The film, which tells an all-new story written by Hideaki Sorachi, is the second film in the Gintama franchise. Although the film is advertised as the 'final' film in the franchise, director Yōichi Fujita mentioned that if it was a hit there might be a continuation. Since it's opening, the film has sold more than one million tickets, while the first Gintama film closed in theaters after selling 860,000 tickets.
