Saki Episode of Side A Portable's 1st Gameplay Video Streamed

Japanese website Gamer.ne.jp began streaming a gameplay and character introduction video for Alchemist's upcoming mahjong game for PlayStation Portable, Saki Achiga-hen episode of side-A Portable. The video features clips from gameplay and introduces the characters from the Achiga Girls Academy mahjong club: Kuro Matsumi, Yū Matsumi, Ako Atarashi, Arata Sagimori, and Shizuno Takakamo. The characters' anime voice actresses will also provide the voices for the game.

The game recreates the mahjong battles from the anime. It will have fully voiced dialogue from over 20 characters — in both the story parts of the game and in the actual mahjong matches. The matches will feature over 300 CG cuts of the characters, and players can unlock costumes in Challenge Mode.

The regular edition will retail for 7,140 yen (about US$72), while download edition will go for 5,800 yen (US$58). A limited edition, which will include a bonus CD with the "moment of glory" opening song arranged by ZAQ and sung by Miyuki Hashimoto, will retail for 9,429 yen (US$95). All three will be available on August 29 in Japan.
