Kamisama Kiss Anime Inspires iOS/Android Game
posted on by Egan Loo
Julietta Suzuki's manga and anime Kamisama Kiss (Kamisama Hajimemashita) is inspiring the game app Kamisama Hajimemashita ~Dokidoki Ayakashi Love~ this summer. The title will be a novel-style game revolving around the romances of the characters from the anime. The anime's voice cast recorded new dialogue for the game, which will have a new story not seen in the original.
The game will be available on iOS and Android devices, and the official site is accepting pre-registrations now. People who pre-register will receive a free scenario that would have otherwise cost extra.
Suzuki's original shōjo manga follows Nanami (voiced by Suzuko Mimori), a girl who finds herself homeless after her father leaves. She comes to the home of a man (Akira Ishida) who offers to let her stay over — only to discover it is a Shinto shrine. The man happened to be a deity who has just transferred his status and his fox yōkai, Tomoe (Shinnosuke Tachibana), to Nanami.
Suzuki launched the manga in Hana to Yume in 2008, and Hakusensha will publish the 16th volume in Japan on August 20, which will be bundled with an original anime DVD. Viz Media published the 12th volume (under the name Kamisama Kiss) in North America in February.
Funimation streamed the 13-episode series as it aired, and acquired the rights for a home video release.
