GaijinWorks Aims to Release Class of Heroes II on PSP UMD
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
GaijinWorks will soon release digital copies of the PlayStation Portable game Class of Heroes II, and its official website is currently gauging interest in a one-time, pre-order only physical copy release. If pre-orders reach 2,500 units, GaijinWorks will release the game physically at US$34.99 instead of US$24.99, and fans will be able to vote on the box art. The physical version would also include a color manual and a digital download code.
Those who are interested in getting a physical release for the game can sign up on GaijinWorks' website. (Note: The sign up is not for the pre-order itself, but for GaijinWorks to gauge interest in whether to offer a physical copy of the game.)
In March 2012 GaijinWorks and MonkeyPaw Games opened a Kickstarter campaign to release the game in a physical deluxe edition that was to include an embossed box, character standees, and the game's soundtrack. The Kickstarter failed, falling more than US$400,000 short of its goal. If GaijinWorks does release a physical copy of the game, fans who supported the unfunded Kickstarter will get a special UMD label art that's different from the general run.
Class of Heroes II is the sequel to Class of Heroes, a dungeon-crawling game for the PSP that Atlus USA released in North America in 2009. Players can select their party characters' race, gender, and class before entering the game's school for adventurers. The sequel game originally shipped in Japan in June 2009.
