Moyashimon Returns Gets Free iOS Game

The smartphone app and game developer kayac Inc. released a Moyashimon Returns iOS game app on the Japanese iTunes Store on Thursday.

The "Kin wo Atsumete Maire! Moyashimon!! ~Yūsha Oryzae no Bōken~" (Bacteria Gather! Moyashimon!! ~Hero Oryzae's Adventure~) game features the bacteria Oryzae as the protagonist as it goes on an adventure to gather other bacteria to create a "bacteria alliance." The player controls "soldier Oryzae" as it battles its way through dungeons to search for other bacteria. As the player levels up and completes stages, the game will add more bacteria entries in an included illustrated encyclopedia.

The game's description notes that it is available in both Japanese and English, although the app is currently not available in the U.S. iTunes Store.

Moyashimon Returns is airing on Fuji TV's late-night Noitamina programming block. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in various countries outside of Japan as it airs.
