Galileo Galilei Performs Theme Song for Manga Magazine

anohana, Gundam AGE band provide song for Weekly Young Jump spinoff mag in February

The Japanese rock band Galileo Galilei will provide a theme song for Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump spinoff issue #3 of Aoharu, to be released in February. The song, titled "Imaginary Friends," will be released on the band's second album PORTAL on January 25.

Galileo Galilei sang the opening theme songs for the anohana, Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, and Ookiku Furikabutte ~Natsu no Taikai-hen~ television anime series. The band inspired a film based on its first original song "Control Tower (Kanseitou)," which premiered in the U.S. in July and in London in October. The band also launched a series of anime shorts within the Monster Rock program on the Space Shower TV music channel in 2010.

The lineup for the new Aoharu issue will be announced in future issues of Weekly Young Jump, which made the theme song announcement in its third issue on Thursday.

The musical duo ClariS provided the theme song for Aoharu's #0.5 issue, which was released in August. That issue featured works from 41 manga creators such as Renjuro Kindaichi, Sadaji Koike, and Akihito Yoshitomi.

Shueisha shipped issue #0 of Aoharu last November with works from 25 creators such as Uki, Kyō, Yumiko Shirai, and Kumiko Suekane.
