Fate/zero's Life-Size Saber Motorcycle Startup Video Posted
posted on by Egan Loo
The ITmedia website posted a video to demonstrate that the life-size version of Saber's Motored Cuirassier from the Fate/Zero light novel series is an actual, working motorcycle.
In the light novels, the Motored Cuirassier is a modified Yamaha V-Max motorcycle, so the model-making staff of Good Smile Company (GSC) followed suit and customized a real V-Max motorcycle. With a working engine, the main thing keeping the 1/1-scale Motored Cuirassier from being street-legal is its missing license plate. Unlike the 1/8-scale version, the life-size version has additional features such as luminescent panels (via LEDs). However, only the bottom muffler in the life-size Motored Cuirassier's characteristic twin mufflers is a working unit; the top one is a dummy.
The life-size Motored Cuirassier is on display at the Matsudo Good Smile Café east of Tokyo from December 15 to December 21. (General patrons are not allowed to touch the motorcycle, but they can pose around it for photos.) On December 22, Good Smile Company will begin accepting pre-orders for the 1/8-scale version of the Motored Cuirassier with a figure of Saber herself. (The Life-size version was built to promote the 1/8 figure.)
As the Fate/Zero anime airs in Japan this fall, Aniplex is streaming each episode in eight different subtitled languages worldwide via the Niconico Live and Niconico Channel services for the first week. Crunchyroll is then streaming each episode a week later in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
