Ni no Kuni Game Inspires Real-Life Curry

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
"Desert Oasis Curry" featured in game to be sold in November in Japan

The Japanese food company House Foods will sell an instant curry dish inspired by the upcoming Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō PlayStation 3 video game. The "Ni no Kuni Desert Oasis Curry" box (pictured at right) will be available starting November 14 for 298 yen (US$3.88). The "Desert Oasis Curry" is a special item the main character Oliver eats in the game. The curry will contain potatoes, carrots, and beef in House Food's original curry sauce.

Level-5's upcoming role-playing adventure game features animation by Studio Ghibli, and it is a companion to the Nintendo DS game Ni no Kuni: Shikkoku no Madōshi, which shipped last December. In both versions, Ni no Kuni follows a boy who can move from his home world to the world of "Ni no Kuni" via a magical book.

Ni no Kuni: Shiroki Seihai no Joō will ship in Japan on November 17 for the retail price of 8,800 yen (about US$114), and an English release will follow in early 2012.
