posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The Ustream website will stream a demo of the upcoming iPhone and iPod Touch version of Cave's side-scrolling gothic-horror shooting game Deathsmiles live to computers worldwide on Friday, July 1 at 8:00 p.m. in Japan (7:00 a.m. EDT). The iPhone and iPod Touch version of the video game will include a new character and an original story. The 30-minute stream will include information about the new character, the illustrator, the voice actors, and the composer; it will also introduce the game and show gameplay.
Deathsmiles will go on sale in Japan on July 7 for 1,000 yen (US$12.36), but the game will be on sale for 600 yen (US$7.41) for the first four days of its release. A free "lite version" will also be available starting July 7.
Manga artist Yukinatsu Mori (Mabui no Kotowari) is in charge of the new character designs and the scenario for the game.
Aksys games released the original Deathsmiles game on the Xbox 360 last year, and Cave added the Japanese version of Deathsmiles 2X on the Xbox 360's Games On Demand service this month.
