Trivia:
The film was mostly shot in the forests of Nantou County, Taiwan, with some scenes also shot in Thailand.
The film was loosely inspired by “Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies”.
In the Ultimate Edition version, a majority of the special effects have been redesigned by placing CGI over them. While the opening and close credits were both extended and redone with CGI.
The character of Jen-Jen amalgamates Pansy (the character from Dragon Ball: Curse of the Blood Rubies (1986) whose home was destroyed) and Chi-Chi (the daughter of a Ox King).
This is the only movie in the "Dragon Ball" saga where Bulma has directly killed someone.
