Trivia:

Suiseiseki, who says "desu" extremely frequently as a kind of catchphrase is often simply called DESU because her name is difficult for some people to spell. Due to this anime, 'desu' has also become an internet meme, frequently spammed on 4chan, especially on /b/.

Taro Aso, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, is well known for being a fan of Rozen Maiden, so much so that he is often referred to as 'Rozen Aso' (ローゼン麻生).

The Rozen Maiden anime is a topic in the popular, long-running manga by Osamu Akimoto, Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouenmae Hashutsujo, aka Kochikame, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, the week of December 3, 2007 - December 9, 2007. Kochikame protagonist Kankichi Ryoutsu, aka "Ryou-san," attends a quiz show. The quiz show host asks an anime-related question, "What is the name of the first doll in Rozen Maiden?" Ryou-san answers, "Pikachu." The correct answer: Suigintou.

For the week of Monday, December 10, 2007 - Sunday, December 16, 2007, in Chapter 156 of the Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler) manga by Kenjirou Hata serialized in Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine, after getting poked in the face in bed by Nagi who is suffering from muscle pain, Maria says, "Junk ni shimasu yo." (I'll turn you into junk!") This is Maria's version of Suigintou's famous phrase in the Rozen Maiden anime series, "Junk ni shite ageru(wa)!!" ("I'll turn you into junk!!") Kenjiro Hata is paying tribute to Suigintou voice actress (seiyuu) Rie Tanaka, who also voices Maria in the Hayate no Gotoku! anime.

The January 2008 issue of Animage magazine, published by Tokuma Shoten, which went on sale Monday, December 10, 2007 in Japan, includes as an extra gift an Animage original edition of "Gin-sama Chronicle 'Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i'" Internet radio CD.

Rozen Maiden director Kou Matsuo's initial idea for the anime version of Suigintou differed from the original PEACH-PIT manga version of the black winged doll of darkness. When auditioning for the role of Suigintou, Rie Tanaka dressed up all in black. (Going by her pictures on the Internet, Rie apparently likes to wear black clothes.) Although her portrayal of Suigintou differed from his idea at first, Kou Matsuo decided right then and there that Rie Tanaka was Suigintou. There were to be no other candidate for the role.

Suigintou was voted the "Most Loved Character" in Nico Nico Douga's 11th Aisare Kyara Senshuken (Beloved Character Championship), held on Saturday, January 19, 2008 and Sunday, January 20, 2008. Suigintou (Rozen Maiden) finished No. 1, Shigeru Akagi (Akagi) finished No. 2, Yuki Nagato (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) finished No. 3, Suiseiseki (Rozen Maiden) finished No. 4, Kagami Hiiragi (Lucky Star) finished No. 5, and Tsukasa Hiiragi (Lucky Star) finished No. 6.

Suigintou wins NICO NICO DOUGA's (SMILE VIDEO's) 12th Aisare Kyara Senshuken (Most Loved Character Championship), held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 and Sunday, February 24, 2008. Suigintou (Rozen Maiden) finished No. 1 with 506,166 points, Shigeru Akagi (Akagi) finished No. 2 with 497,322 points, Suiseiseki (Rozen Maiden) finished No. 3 with 258,515 points, Yuki Nagato (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) finished No. 4 with 237,147 points, and Kagami Hiiragi (Lucky Star) finished No. 5 with 132,023 points.

In three June 12, 2008 entries on her blog, Rie Tanaka - the Japanese voice actor for Suigintou on all the Rozen Maiden anime series and specials, on the Suigintou no Koyoi mo Ennu~i Internet radio show, and on various Rozen Maiden and Suigintou CDs - includes several pictures of her Super Dollfie (SD) Suigintou doll, manufactured by VOLKS in very limited numbers (50). A Super Dollfie Suigintou doll retails for 102,900 yen (around US$1,000.00), and may go for 300,000 yen (around US$3,000.00) on the open market.

The seiyuu of Suigintou are both famous which are Rie Tanaka (anime) and Mamiko Noto. (Drama CD)

Ever since she asked the anime originated question "Nyuusankin totteruu?" ("Are you taking your lactic acid bacilli [bacteria]?") in episode 8 of Rozen Maiden back in 2004, Suigintou has become closely associated with lactic acid bacteria beverages (e.g., Yakult), known in Japan for their reputed health benefits. Japanese fanart of Suigintou frequently depict her with lactic acid bacteria drinks and/or uttering her famous lactic acid bacteria line.

Many Japanese and foreign fans note that Nomura/Takagi, the mysterious, evil woman with long, silver hair who first appears in episode 17 of the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai anime (2007), bears an unmistakable resemblance to Suigintou ("Gin-sama") from the Rozen Maiden anime series, both in appearance and in voice. The Japanese voice actor (seiyuu) for Suigintou, Rie Tanaka, also does the voice for Nomura/Takagi. According to a number of Japanese fans, the Higurashi staff modeled Nomura/Takagi after Suigintou and specifically cast Rie Tanaka to play her, in an homage to Suigintou.

In Episode 35 of the Hayate no Gotoku! (Hayate the Combat Butler) television anime series, Maria briefly wears a Suigintou costume. This is a parody involving Suigintou's Japanese voice actress in Rozen Maiden, Rie Tanaka. Tanaka is also the Japanese voice actress for Maria in Hayate. It also parodies Rie Tanaka's love for cosplay, who has dressed up as Suigintou for the public to see on more than one occasion.
