Kamen Rider BLACK RX (live-action TV)
Go back to Kamen Rider BLACK RX main page
Kamen Rider BLACK RX had a whole list of firsts for the franchise. The series was the first to use the same lead character and actor from a previous series (Kamen Rider BLACK). BLACK RX was also the first Kamen Rider to have different physical forms. He was also the first and only Rider to have a car.
For the last four episodes, all of the previous Kamen Riders (from Rider #1 to ZX) appeared to help Kamen Rider BLACK RX battle the Crisis Empire. However, none of the original actors who played the Riders appeared on the series themselves. This was the last time a major Kamen Rider teamup was seen on Japanese television.
"RX" refers to photosynthesis. RX light gives energy; this logical because Black RX energizes from the sun.
Creator of Kamen Rider, Shotaro Ishinomori was so outraged at the various alterations to the plot and characters of Black RX by Saban in the Americanization, he refused to allow Saban to have anymore footage to make the show, which is why they stopped making the show entirely.
