While Osamu Tezuka oversaw the production of this charity special, most of the animation was drawn by assistants, though Tezuka insisted on personally drawing every cel of Black Jack.

This storyline, featuring a large number of Tezuka's most popular characters, was used as the framework of the plot for the recent Astro Boy: Omega Factor video game for the GBA.
