The Full Armor Dendoh that appears in one episode of the series is a reference to several mecha anime-- the idea of a 'full armor' design and the beam rifle it carries come from Sunrise's main mecha anime Mobile Suit Gundam. The guns and missile launcher mounted on its back appear to be a reference to the robots from Blue Gale Xanbungle; It uses a pair of Choudendoh Yo-Yos inspired by the most famous weapons used by the titular robot of Choudenji Robo Combattler V, as well as a bow called the 'Dendoh Gogun,' inspired by the bow and arrow used by the titular machine from Yuusha Reideen.
The first "Super Robot Wars" game in which "Gear Fighter Dendoh" played a major role in is "Super Robot Wars R" for the Game Boy Advance.
Althea's Dendoh counterpart, Ogre, is a reference to Director Mitsuo Fukuda's OVA series Cyber Formula Sin. In that show, Bleed Kaga drives the race car Ogre to compete against Hayato Kazami's unbeatable Nu Asurada.
Winner of the "Best Theme Song Award" at the 6th Animation Kobe (2001) for Hironobu Kageyama & Masaaki Endo's "W-Infinity"
Dendoh also appeared in Super Robot Wars MX for the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation Portable version.
The original concept for the series was a new TV series for the Brave Saga called " The Saint of Braves Baan Gaan".
