We asked the photographer, "What tips can you offer cosplayers to get the shots that they want?"
"My biggest tip to cosplayers to get the shot you want is know your character. Don't just cosplay a character because you think it looks pretty. Be a fan of that character. Know that characters personality and then mimic that character in your shoot. One of the best things that happened to me was when I tried to do a shoot with a good friend of mine, Chiki when I was just beginning as a cosplay photographer, and if I remember correctly she was doing Mami from Madoka Magica. I asked her to be innocent, and she said "this character is not innocent". Honestly, that made happy because she knew that character, and she wanted the absolute best photo of that character she could get. So that would be my main thing, is know the character you're cosplaying, study everything about it and then be prepared for the shoot. :)"
