The state and municipal governments of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Manipur, Bihar, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Puducherry permitted cinema halls and multiplexes to reopen on Wednesday. States such as Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Odisha have directed all public recreational establishments to remain closed until October 31.
Cinema halls that resume operations have been directed to accommodate only 50% of their audience capacity. Establishments are also required to adhere to other safety guidelines put down by the central and state governments such as separated seating and temperature checks.
