Square Enix's first livestream program for the Romancing SaGa Re; Universe smartphone game revealed on Tuesday that the release of the remaster of the Romancing SaGa 3 game has been delayed to an unannounced release window in Japan. The game was originally slated to launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Vita, PC, iOS, and Android devices in Japan in early 2019.
The livestream previewed gameplay footage. The game series' producer Masanori Ichikawa said during the livestream, "We are still in the state of improving the development quality, so I would like to have a little more time.” He also added, "“We're quite done, but I would like to increase the quality even further.”
Romancing SaGa Re; Universe launched in Japan on December 6. The game features characters from past entries in the series, and has a story set three years after the events of Romancing SaGa 3.
Square Enix announced both games at Tokyo Game Show in September.
