Bandai Namco Entertainment announced on Tuesday that it is delaying the Nintendo Switch release of Dark Souls: Remastered from May 25 to an unspecified time later this summer. The Solaire amiibo figure will also be pushed back.
The company explained, "The new release timing gives the development team the time needed to make sure Nintendo Switch players can fully appreciate the true Dark Souls experience anytime and anywhere, thanks to the unique portable nature of the Nintendo Switch console."
The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions will still launch on May 25 in North America and Europe and May 24 in Japan as planned.
The HD remaster will include the main game and the Artorias of the Abyss DLC. Players will be able to build their own characters with many weaponry, armor, magic, and crafting options. Players will be able to team up or fight against each other in groups up to six people among nine covenants online with dedicated servers.
