New Digimon Story Game in Development for PS4
posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Kazumasa Habu, the producer of Bandai Namco Entertainment's Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory game, revealed in an interview with game news website 4Gamer on Saturday that a new game in the Digimon Story series is in development for the PlayStation 4. He noted that favorable impressions of Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth outside Japan prompted the developers to make the new game with a worldwide perespective in mind. Thus, the staff chose the PS4 as a main platform due to it being the mainstream hardware overseas.
The Digimon Story game series began with the Digimon Story game (released in the West as Digimon World DS) for the Nintendo DS in 2006. The latest entry in the series is Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory, a spinoff of the earlier Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth game. The game will ship for the PS4 and PS Vita in Japan on December 14, and in the West on January 19.
Naoki Akamine launched a one-shot manga adaptation of the game in the January issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine on November 21.
