Sony Sells Over 50 Million PS4 Consoles Worldwide

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced on Wednesday that it has sold more than 50 million PlayStation 4 consoles worldwide as of Tuesday, November 6. Sony specified that these are actual sell-through numbers, as opposed to units shipped. The console is the fastest to reach the milestone of any console under the PlayStation brand.
The PlayStation 4 had sold 40 million units as of May.
Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro console sold 65,194 units in the first four days since its launch on November 10 in Japan.
The PlayStation 4 console first launched in the U.S. and Canada in November 2013 and in Japan in February 2014. Sony sold 7.5 million PS4 units in fiscal year 2013, and 14.8 million units in fiscal year 2014.
