Akame ga Kill Manga Ends on December 22

The November issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine announced on October 22 that Takahiro and Tetsuya Tashiro's Akame ga KILL! manga will end in the January issue on December 22. The 14th compiled volume revealed in August that the manga's 15th volume will be the last. The volume is slated for this winter.
The manga entered its final arc in the 12th volume in 2014.
The dark fantasy action manga centers on Tatsumi, a young warrior who travels to the Imperial capital to join the military, and instead finds a world of corruption, decay, and brutality. Tatsumi encounters Night Raid, an assassin group that supports the efforts of a growing underground revolution, joining their ranks after they reveal the true nature of the Imperial nobility to him. Among Night Raid's number is Akame, a reticent swordswoman who has a past as an imperial assassin.
The Akame ga KILL! ZERO prequel focuses on Akame's former life as a professional assassin in Imperial employ. The manga announced in June last year that the prequel is also "approaching its climax."
Takahiro and Tashiro launched the original manga in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker magazine in 2010. Artist Kei Toru launched the Akame ga KILL! ZERO prequel in Square Enix's Monthly Big Gangan magazine in October 2013. The 14th volume's wraparound jacket band revealed that the series, including the Akame ga KILL! ZERO spinoff, has 3,300,000 copies in print. Yen Press publishes both manga in North America.
Akame ga KILL! inspired a TV anime, which premiered in Japan in July 2014. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the series on Blu-ray Disc and DVD home video. The anime began airing on Adult Swim's Toonami block starting in August 2015.
