Guillermo del Toro: Pacific Rim 2 Sequel Is 'Still Going'

Director Guillermo del Toro posted on his Twitter account on Monday that production on the sequel to his Pacific Rim film is "still going," and that he will "remain w [sic] it in one way or another!"

The director previously stated last September that, "As far as I'm concerned, [the Pacific Rim sequel is] not gone."

Chinese company Dalian Wanda Group purchased a majority stake in Legendary Entertainment. Legendary Pictures produced Godzilla and Pacific Rim.

Universal removed the film from its release schedule, but insisted with Legendary Entertainment in September that they remain committed to making the film. The sequel had been slated for August 2017, after previously being planned for April 2017.
