Yen Press Industry Panel

by Lynzee Loveridge,

Yen Press' publishing director Kurt Hassler and senior editor JuYoun Lee hosted the afternoon panel on Saturday. The panel opened with Yen Press' four new manga announcements.

The first announced property was the Inu x Boku S.S. manga by Cocoa Fujiwara. The 2009 series ran in Square Enix Gangan Joker magazine and has 8 compiled volumes. The first volume will be released in October.

The second announcement was the license of Nico Tanigawa's No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! (Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui! or WATAMOTE) manga. The series ran on Square Enix's Gangan Online site. The third compiled volume shipped in Japan in December and Yen Press will release the first volume in October.

The next announcement was the license of the manga adaptation of Mamoru Hosoda's Wolf Children anime film. The series was drawn by Yu and was collected into 3 volumes. Yen will release it in a single, omnibus edition. It's slated for release early next year.

In their final announcement, Yen Press will re-release the Kingdom Hearts manga as well as material not previously published in North America. The company will start with Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix by Shiro Amano, a three volume series. Yen Press will compile it into two volumes in May, followed by the release of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories in June, then Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts: 365/2 Days in November.

The panel then broke for a Q&A Session.
