Is that the Death Star? Laughing

Still not digging those drawings, they should've gotten Udon to make them.

Personally, I like Bengus' illustrations since he was the main SF artist after Akiman starting with SF Zero, which is when the SF story began to get more convoluted and take shape. So it's fitting that he's doing the illustrations for their first big push to do a serious story mode. Also, I wonder if they'll be updating the story gradually until all the characters are released similar to how Arc Sys is handling Central Fiction?

No, right from the get-go every character will have the usual arcade mode with their own personal story told through 2D illustrations between fights.

What they're adding a few months later is a linear, cinematic story mode told through in-engine cut-scenes. They said to think of each character's arcade story mode as a "prologue" that sets up everyone's involvement in the big story mode, which will finally bridge the gap with Street Fighter III, which is the last game chronologically.

I don't know how DLC characters will fit into this, though they'll surely have their own arcade endings.

Right, I understand that each character will have a personal story, but I wonder if the over arcing "cinematic" story that ties them all together will be released gradually as more characters are introduced... Or if will the one update we'll get the whole thing?

What I was getting at was that it was all coming at once. At least, nothing they've said suggests it will be broken up. They simply said "the story mode will be added to the game in June." No mention of a "part one" or anything, but they did say say that completing all of the single-player content should earn players enough fight money to purchase at least the first DLC character, presumably that includes completing the story mode too.

Again, we have no idea how, or if, the DLC characters will factor into the story. It could get expanded on, though it does get hard to shoehorn additional characters into a mode that intends to tell a specific story. DOA5 and MK9 didn't bother. Certainly wouldn't be surprised if they didn't here either.

Yeah, Bengus/CRMK is a fantastic artist, but I'm far more fond of his previous style. Man, Alpha 3's artwork was godly. Edayan (another Capcom artist) became somewhat of a successor, so I guess that's why Bengus decided to switch to a different style? Dunno.
