All of these look like worthy contenders. Well, all of them except for Resurrection F. I went into that movie with pretty modest expectations but I still ended up disappointed. A shame because I actually really liked Battle of Gods.
I'm hoping that Love Live picks up the win but I'm probably biased.

Nope. Not FnF. I'd have a heart attack if it did win.

Lol here's hoping DBZ takes home another accolade, I think Toriyama is running out of shelf space.

Doesnt bother me. Anthem of the heart and Boy and the Beast were mediocre in their own ways so i dont begrudge FnF for the nomination.

If its anything like our domestic awards, old people love scenes they can relate to. Anthem has I think the most relate-able moments, and I would think its also the best out of the nominations. I'll only be disappointed if Love Live wins. While I'm not saying it is bad, 'Animation Movie of the Year' doesn't seem to be its thing.

Boy and the Beast seems like the public's choice (2nd highest grossing movie in Japan for 2015 period) while Miss Hokusai seems to be the critics choice having already won numerous awards and accolades both domestically in Japan and internationally. Of course Sony could potentially use it's clout and connections to get Anthem the award so it has something to it's credit besides Newtype Awards which are bought and paid for anyway, but it's far from guaranteed and barring meddling would seem like the longest shot after DBZ. Right now I'd say Boy and the Beast seems the most likely, Hosoda's name carries it's own share of clout and the movie was by far the biggest hit out of the three effectively doubling even what Love Live earned in theaters and being seen and applauded by the most people.

Realistically the only ones that feel like they SHOULD be serious contenders to me are Miss Hokusai and Boy and The Beast. Anthem to me was just too much of the usual weepy melodrama that A-1 and Nagai/Okada like to work the angle on far too much and Love Live and DBZ are kind of just fluff franchise flicks though not bad movies or anything. Miss Hokusai tackles very unusual subject matter and is IMO very nicely crafted and approachable but will unfortunately probably never see a subbed release since it's just too low profile in this day and age which is really a shame considering how good it was. Boy and The Beast speaks for itself.
