I, for one, love both these creators. I'm really excited for this!

I like both of them too. And I have wanted to see Shirow do something a bit light hearted for a long time. So good news as far as it goes. Hopefully it works.

It does look a bit, um, "cookie-cutter", but hey, I've see a lot worse concepts turn in to something ok.

I've read a few volumes of the manga, believe me its not exactly normal. I wouldn't worry about it being too cookie-cutter, its freaking crazy lol.

Very true, but I think Masamune Shirow is having fun with this. It is a bit lighthearted and cheerful. Nanakorobi Nene has to be one of the most cheerful and armed anime characters I have ever seen.

spoiler[You ever notice the hotter the mad scientist, the more amoral she is?]

Very good point! and Uzal is definitely at the top end of the hot spectrum.

I've never heard of this manga??? I was under the assumption that Shirow only drew hentai for the past decade.

@Anddo

He wrote this, he didn't draw it. In a note in the first volume he says his art is too old fashioned, what every that means. This was drawn by the artist of Excel Saga.
