It's sad, I can relate from personal experience as to what that virus can do to you if it doesn't go dormant.

May she rest in peace.

MG, you might want to check out what the virus is on Wiki, if you're really that interested.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epstein–Barr_virus

Quote:
Infection with EBV occurs by the oral transfer of saliva and genital secretions.

Most people become infected with EBV and gain adaptive immunity. In the United States, about half of all five-year-old children and about 90 percent of adults have evidence of previous infection.

Comforting.

Really sad to hear that this seiyuu passed away from something like this.

According to that link, it's common in Asians and also South Americans, we should all be worried about our favorite voice talent.

Wow. The info comes on the same day as the ToZ anime info.

At least we know how it happened. Spreading awareness of it was a great decision.

Six years old, First Grade, was bed ridden for almost 6 months. Severely anemic for about 5 years afterward, pills, supplements and lots of liver to get my blood count back to something resembling normal.

According to our family doctor I got it from playing in contaminated water, there are some mud puddles you should not touch. Not that a 6 year old will pay any attention to that.

That was 40+ years ago and the virus is still in me, it will remind me of that every 5 years or so.
