So the movie will be the first three GNs put together? Fair enough. At least it sounds like Cameron knows what he's talking about (I hope).

He knows what he's talking about. He just doesn't know when he wants to actually shoot.

The approach he's taking sounds quite sensible, and it's clear he knows - and is a fan of - the source material. He had originally talked about doing the motorball segment separately, but I must admit that some adaptation of rollerball would make an excellent and sensational climactic action sequence. Cameron has a reputation as a perfectionist, so this should be a real treat.
Hmmm, I can already take a guess at what's going to be kept and what's not. |

This makes me think of one thing.
Not saying it's gonna be bad or anything. |

Hmm I'm skepetical on the blue blood, then again what color would a cyborg/mutant freaks life juices should be? Despite that, I'm excited big time, I love the Battle Angel Alita series, it was my first manga ^^

I was peeping the AICN Talkback http://aintitcoolnews.com/tb_display.cgi?id=19106#834515 on this particular subject and the skepticism is rampant. although i can't really fault them.
I would rather see a live action treatment of Battle Angel (with Christina Ricci as one of the posters suggested for casting )anyday than some "souped up 3D" wizardry, that one has to wit 3-4 years possibly before the Movie is actually finished. IMO Ca"Moron" may have lost his niche, mainly due to his obsession with undersea exploration. And i won't bother to "go there" in regards to that overated chick flick, The Titantic. John Carpenter had put out more genre based classics (Halloween,The Fog,Assault on Precient 13,Escape from New York,Big Trouble in Little China and of course The Thing.) whereas Cameron (a former protoge of Carpenter's) is Mostly known for the first 2 Terminator films and Aliens which are among my favorite. what has he really done afterwards? Not meaning to pigeonhole him into being only a Sci-fi writter/Director, but i feel he abandoned many who admired his work that put him on top in the first place. |

Well, as a Titanic buff since 1989 and an anime fan since 1998, there's really no bad side to this for me.

Ya know who would make a good Ido? Harold Ramis, better known as Egon in Ghostbusters! He would be perfect for Ido because he looks so much like him!
And should the day come that we need a Desty Nova, I was thinking Jim Carrey would be perfect for the role! Ethier him or Robin Williams. Both would fit the bill for the crazy mad scientist type of guy. |
