Some info about the Greek myth versions of the first 3 monsters (using Wikipedia and theoi.com articles):

-While Lamia was a snake-lady child-eater, sometimes she became pluralized into the Lamiai (snake-tailed succubi.vampires). The Lamiai and the Empousai, flame-haired women with bronze and donkey legs, were the companions of Hekate, a goddess of the Moon, magic (as such, she was associated with witchcraft, necromancy, and ghosts).

-While Harpies were ugly bird-women, the beautiful bird-women were Seirens. Homer says that a Harpy was the mother of Akhilleus' 2 horses by Zephyros, the god of the west wind. Harpies are notable in both the Argonautic expedition and the Odyssey.

-The most familiar Kentauroi tribe likely were those that inhabited Thessaly's Mt. Pelion. They were a barbaric group and were noted with their battles with the Lapithoi tribe. The most famous, wisest, eldest, and just was Kheiron. Eventually, later writers and artists made the female Kentaurides. Hylonome is the most (and maybe only known) female Kentaur by name.

*He who tutored many Greek heroes and represents the Centaurus constellation but sometimes who is also identified with Sagittarius but a horse-riding satyr name Krotos is also identified with that sign.

The mermaid danger rating will definitely need adjustment after further investigation. They are far more dangerous than first appearances would lead you to believe, especially while lost in those tragic fantasies. With a couple of weeks of further investigation, you'll realize just how dangerous a mermaid can be to a humans health.

So, what are the monster boys like? I saw a picture of a bishie lamia (I think, didn't see his tail) on Twitter. Have any other monster boys shown up?

Also, can a mermaid/man live in the bathtub, or would that be too cramped? Laughing

Well, there were those orcs, but otherwise, I don't think so.

I think there was a show about mermen a little while ago. And they were either living in, or spending a considerable amount of time in, a bathtub. I think it was a shorts series, but I can't remember the name, or when it came out. I just remember someone on a podcast I listen to doing an impression on it. Maybe sometime in 2012?

You can't get male lamias, although call it a small difference, "nagas" are basically the same and can be either gender. (Someone can correct that if they have more info on the naga)

Also I would highly advise against putting mermaids in the bathtub unless you want to hear complaints every day, a visit from the extra species abuse department and to never use the bath ever again lmao Laughing

I'd like to disagree about lamias. While I think it's true that a misinformed lamia may break many human bones in their life, I'm sure they can still be told what's the right amount of grip on a human body. Like a person holding a small rodent, we still know how to maintain a protective grip.
If you hold an actual snake they only tense up on you if they're climbing somewhere tricky or are nervous. I know lamias are hundreds of times larger but I still think they're similar to snakes in that regard.

On another note about lamias, some people for some reason seem to think their scales are really rough? I don't know if you've ever held a snake but damn son they're really pleasant to stroke. Very smooth and soft. Again, they can tense up depending but they're still smooth.

Lamia's are constrictor types and tend to have no control of their strength while half asleep and wrapped around their prospective mate, so while it might be possible to control that strength while awake, you are still not out of danger by any means, not to mention the full moon issue when they have no control.

I'll just take Doppel please, she seems harmless (even though I think she's a lovecraftian type of creature, also treating her well will prevent her from killing me if it turns out she is one), she's quite mischievous though. With a harpy, if you teach them that humans can't fly enough times, their long term memory will kick in. Also, Mermaids can be killers if angered or even approached so if you don't get sent to Davy Jones' locker right away, you better be nice.

It's called Circumstances of My Home's Bathtub and it came out 2014. They were mostly sea monsters (merman, octopus man, jellyfish man, crab man) but, if you like Monster erotica than there's a tumblr called "sometimes smut happens" and the artist will do amazing commissions on mythological creatures. It's smut so obviously NSFW.

Screw arachnophobia, I want to give Rachnera a big hug.

In all seriousness, Rachnera easily has the most character depth and development of all the monster girls. Her conversations and monologues are extremely interesting, and she actually sheds a light on innate human prejudice, something we generally don't expect from a harem ecchi anime.

MonMusu would probably be even better if she was the "main" girl instead of Miia, who I like, but really doesn't have much going for her other than she's super jealous, making her a one dimensional character.

If that picture was from Monster Musume and my assumption is correct, the person you saw was probably the dragonewt character they introduced in episode 9, who's spoiler[not male]. They share some traits with the lamia, like being cold blooded and being partially scaly. I'm not sure if there are any spoiler[male dragonewt], though.

As for other male monster... men, I guess? There's the male centaur people whom you get to see in volume 7 of the manga. They're... not exactly positively presented -- if the orcs were the otaku type, then the male centaur are basically the roided musclebound jerks of the monster family.

I'm sure there are male mermaids, but I haven't actually seen any so far. (Male fish people, sure, but no actual mermaids.) If there are any male arachne, I wonder if they tend to be around 1/8th of the size of the female ones. Razz

On another note, while I'm sure that having sexual liaisons with any of the monster girls might be a bit awkward, I imagine it must be doubly so with a centaur, due to the fact that... well...

Also, in the event of a pregnancy, how does a centaur carry the baby? Centorea had some fantasies about her human belly being the swelled part, but somehow, I doubt that's the case.

All the characters in general are pretty one dimensional, they all have little quirks that make them entertaining though.

As a short addendum:

- It is unwise to approach Monster Girls that present with frequent and excessive use of the word "Hora", or any similar variations.

- Proceed with extreme caution if offered the opportunity to touch the fluffy tail.

In Regards to the Male versions in this work , some species one of which is Lamia are explicitly stated to be female only, while I don't think this applies to all species it seems to be more common than less. So there are no male Lamias.

No male lamias? How do lamias reproduce? If they reproduce asexually, then why is Miia so interested in Kimihito, and why does she have a "sensitive spot" on the tip of her tail? If they use non-lamia male partners, which monster do they usually partner with? (can't be humans, since monster people just made contact with humans in the story). I'm thinking way too much into this...

Oh no it's human males. This isn't the first time the interspecies races have made contact with humans. This is just the first time they are fully recognized and out in the open. The governments knew of them for a long ass time.

And dating back for centuries, if not millennia, they've mated with humans that they would pick off.

Harpies and Lamia in particular both are women-only species and thus must mate with human males.

Males Centaurs use human males to get the women "in the mood"(cause the males are drunken brutes), too.

There's literally an entire encyclopedia out there on Monster Girls and their interactions with human males. Laughing
