Terrible. The greatness of the original dub is how campy it sounded. Mix that in with the older animation style, and it makes for an awesome overall experience...
This new dub?... It's just odd.

I already received my copy and watched it last night. The previous dub must have not been available as there is only the new dub on the Blu-Ray. I don't own the original, but I have heard it before. I did not have any issues with the new dub, personally.

I admit that I wasn't as enthusiastic about Luci as I was about David Wald, but she seemed fine to me in that clip. She had a lot more life to her performance than Goodson did.
Also, I'm sorry but I can't stand the older dub of VHD. It might have been great at one time but today it hasn't aged well. To me it sounds too hokey and laughable; Lara Cody's performance as Dan really grated on me in particular, especially her "Oh pleeeeeease, help meeeeeeee!" She didn't sound convincing or natural in the part at all.
I hope Shannon Emerick does a much better job. It's hard for me to even listen to the older dub without cringing today.

True, but as Doris? I'm not so sure. i was positive that she probably would have given the role as the count's daughter since roles like that are mainly been her MO or kira saint davis.

At first I wasn't so sure either, but then I remembered that Doris was supposed to be 18, and Barbara Goodson's performance in the older dub didn't give me the impression she was the correct age. I will say that Luci sounds a bit closer in age, though.
