I'm a tad curious to see how ULTIMO ends but as big a fan of Takei's as I am I kind've fell off with the series after vol. 4 or 5. It got so damn confusing.

Did anyone else feel that way or should I try again?

Oh no, I agree, and I know a lot of people do. Hecj, the scanlators dropped it for that reason, and while the first few volumes always made the New York Times chart, it dropped off after a while, never to return.

Yeah, the series had potential, but....eh. Flew off the rails.

Yeah, I was waiting for this series to end so I can go buy the volumes and read them. From the first four volumes or so, it seemed to be all setup, and I wanted some payoff.
