So much truth in his words of wisdom: Akihabara is the best place in Tokyo. I didn't plan to visit more than two or three times in my week in Tokyo, I went there every day.
Maeda sensei is also very funny, isn't he? |

I love that the inventor of tentacle porn is a classy, interesting fellow.

These "toco toco" videos are really cool!
I really liked this one, about Shichiro Kobayashi. Just loving the artwork! Also, the BGM in these videos are very pleasant and sometimes quite spectacular with headphones... |

Toshio Maeda actually speaks good English - he was just on national TV showing off his tentacle artwork:

Works in tentacle porn led to him making children's works? How does this even relate?

If I was at comic con he'd be the first person I would go see. And this is coming from someone who has never been able to completely watch Overfiend in one viewing!
Damn right Devilman is awesome! |

What a surprisingly nice guy! I hope he gets to do some more TV host work, ala Chris Peppler. Maeda was an instrumental part of my descent into otakudom, and I can't even recall how many childhood memories I have of sneaking the La Blue Gilr VHS's from my parents. I wish he would do doujinshi for events like Comiket, SD Comic-Con, AX, and Otakon. I'd definitely buy his stuff.
Also, did anyone else think the show was called "Taco Taco"? Think I've been watching too much saki... |

Maeda is a good friend of mine. Whenever he's in California, I usually meet up with him for dinner. He's a super sweet guy in person. You would never guess he's credited as the father of tentacle porn simply by chatting with him. He also is a really talented artist and I've always been happy with every sketch I've purchased from him. In addition to going to Anime Expo, he's also sometimes a guest at SacAnime. So, if you're close by, I recommend going over and picking up an original sketch from him. |

ANN also interviewed Maeda back in 2012.
animenewsnetwork.com/cms/changelog/90462/diff?n=543043 We're thinking of doing another interview with him. He's a fun guy. |
