The advertisement says the characters will "move for about six seconds."

Right...

Never expected this series to get any anime adaptation so I suppose any is better than none. Hopefully it will one day get a proper one (or proper short i.e. 3-4 min) since it is godlike.

A seinen anime about high school girls. . . I think this kind of stuff is my problem with stories being made about girls, but not for girls. And these kinds of things get anime all the time, a few to a season (short and long ones, all kinds of variety), yet we're lucky to get a shoujo per season. That's messed up. :/

You clearly don't know anything about this story, do you? This manga has been published since 5 years ago and IT IS a story about girls, for girls. Just because it's ecchi doesn't mean it's made for men's pleasure only, you know? Girls being themselves, being proud of their bodies, they fall in love, they have fun, there's noting wrong with that, that's what this manga is about.

Most japanese girls would rather buy something with pretty boys and no female protagonist at all. It's not like there isn't a lot of things for girls, but most japanese girls doesn't really care about being represented.

As a guy who would rather watch an all female anime than something with a male character, I can understand them.

If you track all the anime per year, you'll realize there's shoujo and shows targeted at girls all the time.

For summer season, there's Junjou Romantica 3, Makura no Danshi, and the Meiji Tokyo Renka: Gengetsu no Serenade movie.

Then there are other anime not exclusive targeted at the female audience but with a large or majority female fanbase: Durarara!!x2 Ten and the upcoming movies for Haikyuu!! and Yowamushi Pedal.

Again, this is just the current season. There's more in the Winter, Spring, Fall seasons. Even Justin in Answerman and Zac in their Tokyo Anime Expo visit covered the rising popularity of female-targeted or female-appealing titles. Something like half of Akiba is for females, as evidenced by all the bishounen merch.

Lol, and that makes it for girls how? I didn't even know it was ecchi. Having sexuality doesn't make it not for female audiences, but being ecchi does. If it's in a seinen magazine, it's clearly for men/targeting them. Why is it not in a shoujo, or even, josei magazine?

Why is there not an anime for and about girls from a shoujo magazine that deals with everyday issues for girls being made instead, if that's what this is really about? We'll see when this comes though, won't we? (It's so short anyway.)

I don't know to what extent that's true, but if you have a source, I'm really curious about it. What I know (from seeing and reading) proves otherwise, but I'm always learning something new, lol. (I think this applies more to otome games than manga.

There's always something, but it isn't much in comparison to everything else. That's my main nitpick. The variety and substance is lacking, especially compared to how it used to be.

Junjou Romantica does count, but I have a frustration with that too, lol. I don't like the idea of yaoi for sexualizing gay for consumption of other people (and same for any group). I'm just frustrated at how boring things are for female audiences anymore.

Like, at least we still get fantastic titles like Yona and Ao Haru adapted, but we only get a substantial shoujo at a time it seems, while those rules don't apply to some of the stuff very obviously targeting guys. Some of the neutral target audience stuff is refreshing though.

That's cool to hear though~! I do see some companies investing more, but the animation part of the anime industry seems so behind compared to everything else. I guess with series like Free! and Uta*Pri making money and sales of manga for stuff KnT and Yona going up, they're catching on.

Also, my bad for how big of a tangent this became. I didn't expect my nitpick to take off so much. x'D
It was relevant, but still.
