Absolutely not! Next weekend is the premiere of The Boy and The Beast, and the weekend after the premiere of Hero; both of them are big releases. There is no chance for Love Live! film to take the 1st place anymore.

With Love Live being hugely popular in Japan, I doubt the film of it losing the No. 1 slot will have any serious impact on the franchise.

It's the biggest selling anime of recent years by some distance and must generate a lot of clicks for ANN. Thus they will make as many stories as possible about it to get clicks.

As of its 4th weekend, Love Live has grossed not just more than 1.4 billion yen, but it is almost at 1.5 billion yen: https://twitter.com/moviewalker_bce/status/617906915780091904

¥1,484,857,000 from 1,026,068 tickets.

Its 4th weekend numbers were: https://twitter.com/moviewalker_bce/status/617992222252797952

¥215,686,100 from 150,488 tickets

Comparison between other big late-night anime franchise movies after the 4th weekend (23 days)...

Madoka 3: ¥1,499,260,100 from 1,079,924 tickets
LL: ¥1,484,857,000 from 1,026,068 tickets
K-ON!: ¥1,139,230,000

Comparison after the 3rd weekend...

Madoka 3: ¥1,236,832,450 from 886,010 tickets
LL: ¥1,194,423,320 from 819,745 tickets
K-ON!: ¥943,034,250

As we can see, the gap between Madoka 3 and LL has dropped from 42.4M down to just 14.4M from the 3rd to the 4th weekend totals. LL is finally going to get the "sought" after film strip during the 6th weekend, and is also getting a B2 poster during the 5th weekend. This is just making things more even, since Madoka 3 and K-ON! got 8 weekends worth of visitor benefits, while LL now has 6 weekends worth.

It is looking like LL is on track on possibly setting the record for the fastest late-night night anime franchise movie to reach 2 billion yen. For comparison, Madoka 3 is the current record holder at 10 weekends (65 days) to reach 2 billion yen... and it had its film strip boost early in its 3rd weekend.

Well, there's more to Love Live than just the girls' normal activities off-stage...The songs they sing are memorable to many that watch it. Smile
